The Scientific Committee of the Congress invites authors to submit abstracts to be considered for inclusion

in the final program.

Authors have to follow guidelines for abstract submission given below.

All abstracts must be submitted in English and must be presented in English as well.

Abstracts will be presented as oral presentations. Time allocated for each oral presentation is 6 minutes plus

2 minutes for discussion.

Notification of acceptance by the Scientific Committee will be mailed to the presenting author at the address

given on the abstract form by the end of April 2005.

Details concerning the oral presentation, as well as date, time and venue of the presentation will be sent in

due time.

Accepted abstracts will be published in ANNALS OF GASTROENTEROLOGY

GUIDELINES FOR ABSTRACT PREPARATION

• A title (in capital letters) that clearly indicates the nature of investigation

• The name(s) of the author(s) should be written with the initial(s) in capital letters and with the name of the presenting author underlined. Type the name of author(s) preceded by initials.

• Institutional affiliations should follow the list of authors in the next line.

• It is possible to use graphics and charts within the abstract. Endnotes footnotes and frames are not acceptable.

Abstract must include:

• A brief statement of the objective.

• A statement of the methods used.

• A summary of the results, presented in sufficient details to support the conclusions, that will presented at the end of the abstract.

• Acknowledgements should be given, if any, at the end of the abstract.

• Only standard abbreviations may be used in the text and they must be defined by being placed in brackets, immediately after the full word or phrase the first time it is typed.

• Numerals should be used for numbers except when beginning a sentence.

• Abstract should not contain more than 350 words, including title, author(s), country and acknowledgments.
